£6,000

EML were commissioned by our client to install a control panel for a newly developed undersoil heating system at the Arsenal training facility.
The primary objective was to provide a reliable and automated solution to mitigate the risk of pitch unavailability due to snow and ice. This would not only enhance player safety but also significantly reduce manual groundskeeping efforts during the winter months.

Challenges:
A number of operational constraints had to be considered:
Restricted Work Area: The installation was to take place in a confined space, shared with multiple other trades, which required careful logistical planning.
Tight Timeframe: The entire system had to be installed and commissioned within one week to align with the club’s training schedule and project deadlines.

Our Approach:
To ensure project success, EML adopted a proactive and collaborative strategy:
Pre-Coordination with Trades: Prior to starting on-site, EML held planning sessions with other contractors to align on schedules, workspace allocation, and task sequencing.
Ongoing Communication: Throughout the installation, EML maintained continuous communication with all stakeholders to navigate spatial constraints and avoid disruptions.
Experienced Execution: Leveraging their extensive experience in control systems and electrical installations, the EML team executed the work efficiently and to a high standard despite the site limitations.

The Results:
The control panel was successfully installed and commissioned within the designated one-week period, with zero complications. The heating system is now fully operational, ensuring that the training pitch remains usable year-round, regardless of adverse weather conditions. This solution supports Arsenal’s commitment to high-performance training facilities and operational reliability.
